Iyengar Yoga is the style of yoga taught. It is based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar.
The emphasis is on good postural alignment in the yoga asana (pose). Regular practice of Iyengar Yoga will "strengthen weak areas of ourselves and open and stretch tight ones, our bodies return to their correct alignment". This physical alignment also has an effect on the mind developing the skill of self-observation.
Good posture promotes vitality, youthfulness, healthy breathing, strong digestion and a peaceful mind.
If you would like to practice yoga, I welcome you to my studio on Pukekohe Hill. Beginners through to experienced yoga students are welcome.
